Medical Advisory Council
Clinical Expertise Guiding MyChart
MyChart is committed to providing health information that is clear, responsible, and grounded in established medical knowledge. Our Founding Medical Advisory Council brings together healthcare professionals who provide clinical perspective on the development, review, and presentation of health education across the platform.
The council helps us maintain a patient-centered approach while ensuring that medical topics are communicated in language that readers can understand.

What the Medical Advisory Council Does?
The council’s role is to provide clinical perspective and medical oversight for appropriate MyHealthChart content and educational initiatives.
Depending on the topic, advisory responsibilities may include:
- Reviewing health education content for medical accuracy.
- Helping identify areas where additional context or clarification is needed.
- Supporting responsible communication of medical information.
- Reviewing educational material against established medical guidance where appropriate.
- Helping maintain a patient-centered approach to health communication.
- Identifying content that may require additional professional review.
Medical review:
Medical review is applied according to the nature and complexity of the content. When a topic requires specialist expertise, we seek review from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
Content that has undergone medical review should clearly identify the reviewer and, where appropriate, the date of review or update.
This distinction is important: medical review does not mean that every article represents an individual diagnosis, treatment recommendation, or personal medical opinion from an advisor.
Our Approach to Medical Information
Evidence-Informed:
We aim to base health education on established medical knowledge, clinical guidance, and reputable health organizations where appropriate.
Clear & Understandable:
Medical terminology can be difficult to navigate. We translate complex concepts into straightforward language without intentionally oversimplifying information that requires clinical context.
Patient-Centered:
Our goal is to help readers understand health information so they can have more informed conversations with their healthcare professionals.
Transparent:
We distinguish between educational information, professional medical review, and individualized medical care.
Regularly Updated:
Health recommendations can change as scientific evidence and clinical guidelines evolve. Important content should therefore be reviewed and updated when relevant.
What Medical Review Means at MyHealthChart
A “Medically Reviewed” label should only be used when a qualified healthcare professional has actually reviewed the specific content.
Medical review means that the identified reviewer has assessed the material from a clinical perspective. It does not mean that the reviewer personally treats every reader, endorses every product mentioned, or guarantees a particular health outcome.
Where applicable, MyChart should display:
Medically Reviewed by: Dr. Marc Krock, MD
Specialty: Cardiologist
Last Reviewed: 08/09/2026
